This blog is part of the ERC-funded research project, SPECTRUM: Visual Translations of Jerusalem in Europe, based at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The project documents and examines visual translations of Jerusalem across Europe, including such famous examples as the Temple Church in London or the Sacri Monti of Piedmont and Lombardy, but also a multitude of lesser known sites which have hitherto been studied only at a regional level. The blog will provide information about project research, activities, news and events. The background to the blog comes via Wikimedia and is extracted from an 1888 map of the city printed in Germany. Except where stated otherwise, all photographs featured on the blog were taken by members of the project and they continue to hold the copyright for these images.
